Terms

Terms of Service

These terms cover the Monk Mode iPhone app, monkmode.site, and related account, sync, support, and subscription services provided by Aura Technologies LLC.

Effective and last updated: July 26, 2026

Current Stripe web offer: Eligible new subscribers receive 30 days free, then pay $2.99 per month. Cancel anytime.

1. Agreement to these terms

By downloading, accessing, purchasing, or using Monk Mode, you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Services. Stripe’s terms apply to payments it processes, and Apple’s App Store terms apply to distribution of the iPhone app.

You must be legally able to enter this agreement. If local law requires a parent or guardian’s consent, that person must review and agree to these Terms for you.

2. What Monk Mode provides

Monk Mode provides tools for selecting and blocking distracting apps or categories, setting schedules or limits, adding friction before access, and viewing activity summaries. Features can differ by device, iOS version, permission status, subscription status, and app version.

You do not need an account to browse the website or download the app. A Google/Firebase account is required to start or manage a Stripe web subscription and connect paid access to the app. App-blocking features require Apple Screen Time or Family Controls permission on your device.

3. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the settings, schedules, apps, and categories you select. Review an active block before starting it, especially if you may need access to communication, transportation, work, school, health, financial, authentication, or emergency tools.

Monk Mode is a productivity tool. It is not an emergency, safety, medical, mental-health, or parental-monitoring service, and you should not rely on it as one.

4. Stripe web subscriptions

30-day free trial and monthly price

The current United States website offer for eligible new subscribers is 30 days free, then $2.99 per month. Trial eligibility depends on the account and purchase history. Stripe Checkout shows the payment terms, any tax, and the amount due before you confirm.

Automatic renewal

Your subscription is billed through Stripe to the payment method provided at checkout. Unless you cancel, it automatically renews each month at $2.99 after the trial. Cancel before the free trial ends to avoid the first charge. Stripe Checkout and the Stripe receipt show the dates and terms that apply to your transaction.

Canceling

You can cancel anytime using the web-subscription management option on the checkout page while signed in with the Google account used for purchase, or by contacting support. Canceling stops future renewal; access normally continues through the current trial or paid period. Deleting the app or a Monk Mode account does not cancel the Stripe subscription.

Refunds

For a billing or refund request, contact Monk Mode subscription support from the email connected to the Google account used at checkout. Refund eligibility depends on the transaction circumstances and applicable law. Do not send a password or full payment card number.

5. App Store distribution

Apple distributes the Monk Mode iPhone app through the App Store. The current website subscription is processed by Stripe, not Apple. After checkout, install or open the app and sign in with the same Google account used before payment so the web entitlement can be matched.

If paid access is missing, contact support before starting another checkout so we can help avoid duplicate billing.

6. Accounts and account deletion

If you use an optional account, keep control of the Google account used to sign in and notify us if you believe someone accessed your Monk Mode account without permission. Do not share passwords or authentication codes with us.

You may request account deletion through an available in-app deletion control or by emailing support. Account deletion and subscription cancellation are separate actions. We may retain limited information when reasonably needed for billing records, security, disputes, or legal obligations, as explained in the Privacy Policy.

7. Acceptable use

You may use Monk Mode for lawful personal purposes. You may not:

  • interfere with, overload, probe, or bypass the security of the Services;
  • use automated means to scrape or abuse the Services;
  • upload malicious code or impersonate another person;
  • use the Services to violate another person’s rights; or
  • copy, modify, reverse engineer, or redistribute the app except where applicable law expressly permits it.

8. Ownership and feedback

Monk Mode, its software, design, text, graphics, and branding are owned by Aura Technologies LLC or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on devices you own or control as allowed by Apple’s rules.

If you send feedback, you allow us to use it to evaluate and improve Monk Mode without an obligation to compensate you. This does not give us ownership of personal information included in your message.

9. Third-party services

The Services may rely on or link to Apple, Google, Firebase, Stripe, and other providers. Their services, accounts, payment systems, availability, and privacy practices are governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for a third-party service outside our control.

10. Availability and disclaimers

We work to keep Monk Mode reliable, but iOS restrictions, Screen Time behavior, device settings, network availability, third-party outages, or software updates can interrupt or change features. Blocks and notifications may not always activate, remain active, or end exactly as expected.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties beyond those that cannot legally be excluded. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection law.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Aura Technologies LLC and its team will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, opportunities, or goodwill arising from the Services. Our total liability for a claim relating to the Services will not exceed the amount you paid for Monk Mode during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Monk Mode at any time. We may suspend or end access to an account or online feature if reasonably necessary to address fraud, abuse, security risk, legal requirements, or a material violation of these Terms. When practical, we will provide notice. Sections that by their nature should continue after termination will remain in effect.

13. Changes to Monk Mode or these terms

We may add, change, or discontinue features and may update these Terms. The revised Terms will be posted here with a new effective date. If a change materially affects an active account or paid service, we will provide additional notice when reasonably possible. Continued use after revised Terms take effect means you accept them.

14. Disputes and applicable law

Before filing a formal claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue. These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to Aura Technologies LLC, without overriding mandatory consumer rights or rules that apply where you live. A dispute may be brought in a court with lawful jurisdiction over the parties and claim.
